Patsy Tony Basilio, 99, of Costa Mesa, California was born on April 7, 1925 in Little Falls, New York, He passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years; JoAnn, his son Anthony Basilio and daughter MaryAnn Cardullo.
Patsy was blessed with 9 wonderful grandchildren; Gina Basilio, Bobby Rash, Matt Basilio, Krista Rash, Anthony Basilio, Sarah Rash, Elizabeth Rash, John Cardullo and Patrick Cardullo and 6 amazing great grandchildren; Logan, Avery, Hudson, Easton, Hadley and Jack. He prioritized spending time with his family, including all the uncles, aunts and cousins.
Patsy was passionate about music, starting at a very young age. He played multiple instruments, including the violin, trombone and mandolin. He joined the Navy at the age of 18 and was stationed on the ship U.S.S. Miami in WW2. While his years in the Navy were harrowing, they became some of his fondest memories.
He started his own business in Shoe Repair when he returned from the service. Patsy ran several successful businesses for over 40 years. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed playing cards, golf and bowling well into his 90’s.
Patsy’s life was marked by his hard work, his love of life and his dedication to his family which inspired those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
Catholic and full military honors burial services will be held at the VA National Cemetery in Riverside, California on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at noon.
