Luis Mora López, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Torrance, California. Born in Puriscal, Costa Rica, on November 5, 1953, Luis carried with him a deep love for family, hard work, friendship, and nature throughout his life.
Luis was a dedicated small business owner in construction and remodeling, known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and integrity. He took immense pride in building and improving homes and businesses and was respected by many for his reliability and commitment to his work. His family will continue carrying forward his business and work legacy, honoring the values and dedication Luis built throughout his life.
Outside of work, Luis cherished time spent with the people he loved most. He enjoyed his bowling and billiards leagues, family meals, visits from his grandchildren, traveling, soccer, and playing at casinos with his beloved wife and close friends. Those who knew Luis remember him as hardworking, friendly, and kind to everyone he met. His warm presence, generosity, and easygoing spirit made him a joy to be around.
Luis was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia Mora, a cherished father to his daughter Michelle Lucio and her husband Ron Ballard, as well as to his son Martin Mora and his fiancée Rio-Cassandra Rios. A loving godfather to Elijah Zahran and grandfather to Sofia Ballard (pets Cisco & Birdie), Miana Mora, and Gianni Mora, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He is also survived by his siblings Lillian, Arnoldo, Grace, Maruja, Odilie, Flory, and Danilo, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Luis was preceded in death by his father, Luis Arronis Guerrero; his mother, Aida Mora López; and his sister, Idalie Mora.
Luis will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the friendships he nurtured, and the life he built through dedication, kindness, and perseverance. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
With heavy hearts, we invite you to join us in honoring Luis’s life. Your support has meant so much to us.
