John Zacharias Grace, known to many as Zachary Grace, passed away on September 29, 2025. Born on June 23, 1971, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Zach was a gifted composer, writer, and music producer, as well as a devoted father.
Zach pursued his passion for the arts through education and achievement. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College and went on to complete a master’s degree in Music Business and Technology at New York University. Following his studies, he created Mean Red Music, a company through which he composed a variety of songs and collaborated with artists such as Sadie Jones as well as Tyler Conti with songs like "Dream."
A man of deep Catholic faith, Zach was known for his intelligence, artistry, and devotion to his loved ones. Above all, he cherished being a father, finding his greatest joy in his son, Luke. He will be remembered for his artistic talent, his intelligence, his humor, and his love for his family. All in all, he was a gentleman.
Zach is survived by his beloved son, Luke Grace; his sisters, Yvonne Sumner and Ginger Grace; his brothers, Winston Grace and Michael Grace; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Paul Grace and Corinne Grace.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Sherman Oaks, California.
