Los Angeles (July 8, 2025) —Surrounded by family, Fayne Petok died peacefully from complications related to multiple myeloma. Nearly 95, (born September 27, 1930 in Detroit) she was the daughter of Carl and Jeanette Myers, loving wife of Sam, mother of Carol (Dan), Seth (Marcie) and Michael (Laurie); grandmother of Perry (Monica) and Jeremy (Marissa); Jenna (Omri) and Will; Jack (Eliabet), Frannie, and Nicky; and great-grandmother to dear Elis and Beni.
A graduate of Central High School (Class of 1948), she captained her golf team to the City of Detroit High School championship her senior year. At Oakwood Country Club (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) in 1973 she carded a Hole-in-One.
She also was an avid tennis and bridge player.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Education and Political Science in 1952 and a member of Sigma Delta Tau, she married Sam Petok (1922-2009) on June 27, 1952. She then harbored a lifelong interest in science, physics, geology, history, politics and evolution. She met many top leaders in business and government throughout her life, and was forever enriched by their presence.
