Cindy (Cynthia) Murray, née Hughes, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at her home in Fountain Valley, California, at the age of 76. Born on January 23, 1949, in San Bernardino, California, Cindy lived a vibrant and passionate life rooted in love for her family, a dedication to helping others, and an enduring joy for music and movement.
Cindy shared 57 devoted years of marriage with her beloved husband, Dick Murray. Together they built a life filled with adventure and deep connection. She leaves behind her son Clint Murray and daughter Staci Murray, as well as five cherished grandchildren: Kayla, Ty, Samara, Marlee, and Jace. Her legacy continues through them—each touched by her strength, warmth, and unwavering support.
She was preceded in death by her mother Bobbie Fraizer; her father Richard Hughes; and her father-in-law Richard L. Murray.
A dynamic presence in every room she entered, Cindy was known for her fierce spirit and boundless energy. She was a go-getter who stood up for those she loved and poured herself into the lives of others with compassion and determination. As a nurturing mother and friend to many, she made it her mission to uplift those around her.
Cindy’s passion for health and community found expression through her work as a Jazzercise instructor—a role that allowed her to inspire countless individuals to embrace movement and joy. Later in life, she became a beloved teacher of the Nifty After 50 performance group. Dancing on stage with “her ladies” brought immense happiness to Cindy; it was not just an activity but a celebration of life itself.
Travel was another great joy for Cindy and Dick. Over the course of a decade, they embarked on numerous cruises together—sometimes spending up to 30 days at sea—exploring new places while deepening their bond through shared experiences.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Green Valley Adult Clubhouse located at 17250 Los Jardines West, Fountain Valley, California 92708. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Cindy’s remarkable life wearing colorful and comfortable clothes as only she would have it for a party!
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
